Who Can Make a Referral?

Anyone!

Any family suffering from the pain of child sexual abuse can contact us for help.

Many of our referrals come from the Department of Family and Children's Services or from the Department of Juvenile Justice. However, anyone--parents, grandparents, foster parents, school counselors and teachers, doctors, nurses, CASA volunteers, other mental health professionals--can make a referral to one of our programs.

If we cannot provide treatment for any reason, consultation and referral to other resources is available to anyone who calls.

Please use one of the forms below to make a referral and someone will contact you shortly. Fax completed forms to 770.532.7111

Please note that all staff members are required by the Georgia State Reporting Law to report all allegations of abuse to the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). If you call about abuse that has not yet been reported to the authorities, we will work with you to make a report.

Scheduling Your First Appointment

Once your referral information has been received, your information will be reviewed by the therapeutic team. A therapist will be assigned to serve you. Once a therapist is assigned, the therapist will call you to schedule your first appointment. The time from the time you first contact our office until you are able to arrive for your first appointment is usually about 2 weeks. Again, to make your appointment the fastest way, submit your referral information by fax to 770.532.7111.

Which Program Should You Refer To?

Victims Services Project Pathfinder Women's Services
No-cost therapeutic counseling for children and teens (boys and girls, ages 4* to 17)who have been the victim of sexual abuse. Through techniques from play therapy, art therapy, individual and group therapy children experience healing and find a safe place to talk about the abuses they have suffered. *Call 770.532.6530 if you have a child younger than age 4. Pathfinder is about turning lives around. It is about working with children who have sexual behavior problems--many of whom have been victimized themselves--and helping them to get back on track in life. Pathfinder works to make sure the community is safe by ensuring that children who have engaged in inappropriate sexual behaviors get the help they need. The teenagers with which Pathfinder works have been adjudicated. Women’s Services works with women who have survived child sexual abuse. The program strives to assist women in making the transition from victim to survivor, decreasing their sense of social isolation, increasing their sense of self-worth and value, increasing their sense of hope, and increasing their survival skills. Often--though not always--these women are the mothers or grandmothers of the children we see in our Victims' Services Program.
